About RCH ID Registration

The Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) programme is a major initiative by the National Health Mission. In Tamil Nadu, the PICME (Pregnancy and Infant Cohort Monitoring and Evaluation) system is used to track expectant mothers.

Registering for an RCH ID is not just a formality; it is essential for:

  • Ensuring safe delivery in government or private hospitals.
  • Obtaining a Birth Certificate for the newborn (mandatory).
  • Receiving financial assistance under the Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme (MRMBS).
  • Tracking immunization schedules for the infant up to 5 years of age.
Note: Even if you are consulting a private doctor, it is mandatory to register in the PICME system to get your RCH ID.
